The Cottage at StrathOwen is a gorgeous 2-bedroom cottage located on a small 75-acre sheep, beef & flower farm

The farm and cottage are located in the wonderful Owen Valley, 25 kilometres north of Murchison. The fully self-contained cottage has gorgeous views of the Owen Valley & Kahurangi National Park.

The local region has sensational mountain biking, kayaking, white water rafting, fishing & tramping. Located on the border of Kahurangi National Park & Nelson Lakes National Park. The cottage makes an ideal holiday home venue, in a wonderful rural landscape.

Located right on the Owen River, the cottage was comprehensively renovated in 2025, with 2 double bedrooms (Main bedroom has a Queen bed & the 2nd bedroom has a Double bed) with brand new kiwi wool carpet, brand new kiwi made beds, linen, and gorgeous kiwi wool duvets & blankets.

The cottage is located on a lovely 75 acre farm, with fantastic views and makes an ideal holiday home destination for up to 4 guests.

The living room is equipped with a reverse cycle air conditioner, a wood fire, some great board games, a Sony 55-inch TV, a great-sounding sound bar (which you can also use as a wicked bluetooth speaker) , and a dining table and chairs.

The kitchen is fully loaded with a gas hob, an electric oven, microwave, Nespresso machine, dishwasher, plus the usual kitchen utensils one needs, and in the laundry next door, a Bosch front load washer/dryer. The cottage has 4G cell reception & the ever-important Wi-Fi.

Our holiday home has a lovely aspect with the view to the fire pit & Weber BBQ, and then onto Kylie’s flower garden, the Owen Valley and the mountains beyond. It really is an idyllic, peaceful setting.

The owners, who used to own & operate a 5-star luxury lodge, live on-site in their own home which is situated well away and out of sight from the cottage. They are here to help, but absolutely understand the meaning of privacy of our guests.
